Blog Update!

Hey Guys!

Tank!

Allie and I have been a little MIA lately. I feel it has been like the whole month of July. Thank you for hanging out with us and being patient.

Allie actually got a little burned out with all the book reading and reviewing. She made the classic beginner mistake of signing up for every single blog tour that looked exciting. LOL. She won’t be doing that again! Besides being overwhelmed with books, our July has been very busy. Allie finally got the ok from the doctor to start walking. Taking care of her with a broken leg has been very exhausting. I don’t have to keep an eye on her all the time anymore, and I can get back to doing Tank things. You know, sleeping, chewing on bones, and chasing my brother, Finn, around. Since she was walking, Mom and Dad went on a vacation to San Antonio. I went to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. It was fun and I was so tired when they finally got home, I slept for 2 whole days!

So now that you caught up with our lives, I wanted to tell you about some changes on the blog. Allie learned her lesson about blog tours. We are going to do about 2 per month. We are still taking requests for reviews, but we are going to be focusing on fantasy and sci-fi as those are Allie’s favorite genres. We have a couple good ones coming up in the next couple of months! Allie is also started writing quite a bit so we may have some new content blog posts.

Allie just loves the new look of the Ginger Mom and KindleQuest. She wants to try to do some new things with the blog. It just might take a little bit for some of those things to happen. We are pretty excited about it.

We would love any advice or tips on things to make our blog more awesome. Please comment below!

  3. You are the sweetest! Switching to self-hosting has been no easy move but definitely worth it. And oh my gosh, I hear you on that rookie move. It's why my last 3 blogs failed. It is SO EASY to see all these amazing tours and review books and just think "I want them all!". It's actually one of the reasons why we are giving up book tours...at least for the near future. Good luck getting back to blogging! We'll be here :)

  4. I know how you feel about the book tours. I had to unsubscribe from all the blog tour email lists because I had no self control.

  5. I think we all have to go through the phase of over committing to all the fun blog toys at some point in time. Welcome back

  6. I just experienced my first case of: bit off more than I can chew AND I am on a work trip than vacation - ahhhh, I should be relaxing but stressing about getting my reviews in. Yikes! I think your new policy is the way to go!

  9. I did exactly the same a couple of months ago. I signed up to too many blog tours and then realised that I had booked in 20 reviews for one month, that is also not including all the interviews, guest posts etc. I was so stressed. I think sometimes you need to step back and just say no. Next month I think I have 2 booked in and I'm not planning on adding anymore as I want a quiet month to concentrate on the books I have on my TBR list.
