Book Review: My Big Fat Fake Wedding

My Big Fat Fake Wedding

Book Blurb from Goodreads:

Now a Washington Post and Amazon Charts Bestseller.
#1 in the Kindle Store.

He needs a wife.
I need a husband.
It’s just temporary… what could go wrong?

I’ve always wanted the fairy tale wedding. Not for the princess perfect dress or big party, but for Papa.

My grandfather. The only father figure I’ve ever known.
It’s his dying wish to walk me down the aisle.
Gee, no pressure.

But I can grant that wish...
I just have to fake being head over heels in love with Ross Andrews, my best friend's big brother whom I embarrassingly crushed on all through high school.

Handsome. Knockout sexy. Arrogant jerk extraordinaire.
Our childish pranks and tit-for-tat battles were legendary. Then I grew up.
Not that he ever noticed.

I know it’s a terrible idea, and we’re both in over our heads.
It could be the wedding of a lifetime or a total disaster.
How do we make it to the altar without killing each other first?

Book Review:

I really enjoy reading books by the talented Lauren Landish. She writes spicy/steamy romance novels with some sass and lots of fun. Violet is not a shrinking violet in this story. She wants to have her grandfather walk her down the aisle before he passes. This drives her to plan a wedding to the man of not quite her dreams, until he dumps her weeks from the wedding. And it is a big Italian wedding at that. I was picturing all the chaos from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It was just as much fun.

Then, there is Ross. He is the ultimate playboy: rich, hot as hell, and single. But he does have a sweet, chivalrous side that I am not even sure he knows about. He gets caught with the wrong woman at the wrong time. The company and his father stress that he needs to change. What better than to have a fake girlfriend? What if that fake girlfriend needs a fake husband? What could go wrong!

I laughed out loud when reading this story. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. I needed a fan while reading some sections. I loved the story, the characters, and all of Violet’s crazy extended family. They need their own book! Lauren Landish’s prose kept me turning the pages until the very end.
