Book Review: I Saw Him Standing There

Book Blurb:

This stowaway sets sail for love!

Small-time con artist Siggy needs to get out of town fast. When she’s offered tickets on the legendary Oceanic Aphrodite, Siggy jumps at the chance to get away.  A week on a luxury cruise ship, with a suitcase full of clothes and all expenses paid? Yes, please! The only catch is that she has to pretend to be someone else.

No problem. Siggy has no intention of getting close enough anyone to discover her secrets.
But this is the Oceanic Aphrodite and love is in the air. When Siggy sees assistant cruise director Will taking tickets, Cupid’s arrow hits the target. Luckily, Will’s too busy smiling at her to check out her fake passport because he’ll toss Siggy off the ship if he finds out about the scam.

Onboard, dolphins and cameras and runaway ferrets bring Siggy and Will together. The more time they spend together, the more Siggy wants to tell him the truth.

Cupid’s arrow has struck deep but can Siggy stop running?

Book Review:

I Saw Him Standing There is the first book in the Oceanic Dream Series. They are a bunch of fun romantic stories written by a collaboration of authors. All the stories (at least the ones I’ve read) are set on the Aphrodite. This is can be read as a standalone.

From the start, this story just drew me in. In the first scene, Siggy is crawling out of a window to get away from someone. Why was she on the run? Why the window? Siiggy was an absolute delight to read about. I think we could have been friends in real life. The story is fast paced and the reader gets to see a pivotal point in her life. She does alot of growing up as a person. Plus she meets an adorable guy. Can she overcome her past to give this new love a try? This story is absolutely adorable. I love growth Siggy has throughout the story.

Thank you to the author for this story. This book is on Kindle Unlimited.

About Siggy from Holly Kerr:

Siggy Smith - the con artist with a conscience.

Siggy came to be because I didn't want to write another rom-com heroine with a broken heart. She does have a broken heart but she dealt with it in a different sort of way—running away from her family and getting caught up with some unsavory types. I wanted to make her a little bad, but not much!  And I love writing action scenes, thanks to my action-chick lit Charlotte Dodd spy series, so I gave Siggy a little bit to do to get away from Eduardo. This is more than a romance, it's really Siggy finding herself and learning to forgive herself. Of course Will is a nice added bonus. I'd love to dig deeper in Siggy's story—the initial romance with Charles, her relationship with Miles and what happens when she's on the run. I really like her character and proud of how she got her life back on track.
