The predetermined course of events in life that some people believe others are to follow; an inevitable and unavoidable future.
What would you do if you found out that your life was a lie? How would you react to finding out that your destiny had once been your wildest dreams? Who do you turn to when those you’re meant to trust turn their backs on you?
When Serena meets the mysterious new guy at college her life seems complete. Great friends, good grades, hot boyfriend. That is until she tells her parents and life as she knows it begins to unravel in ways she cannot understand.
The box in the attic holds the clues to a past she doesn’t remember, but do they also show her the future she’s long since forgotten? Her mother believes so and tears a rift between them trying to convince her that Dylan is bad news, pushing Serena into the arms of another family. A family she is destined to be a part of.

Spoiler Alert at the end.
Thank you to the author for a copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
Tank and I gave this story a solid 4 paw rating.
This YA had some great characters. The MC, Serena, was likeable and sort of damaged. She has a dark past that the reader gets a glimpse of every once in awhile. I hope that the rest of the series fills in the wholes as I am dying to know what happened to her that she doesn’t remember. Dylan is the mysterious new student. We don’t get to see into his mind as it is written from Serena’s POV, which is too bad. Maybe we can get a short story from his POV. (hint) My favorite characters were her best friends. They were great supporting characters and definitely added that realistic element.
The storyline just drew me in and had me paging through the book in one solid weekend. It was an easy read to follow and the action moved right along. I just loved the premise of this story. (The following might be a spoiler.) Dylan was a fallen angel and he thought that Serena just might be his savior. It was unique and really the main reason I kept reading this.
The only reason we gave it a 4 paw rating is that I was mildly disappointed about the ending. It was a cliffhanger and I wish there was more resolution to Serena’s problems. Now I am going to have to catch the next one to find out the answers to my questions.
