Book Review: Consequences by Liz Schulte

Consequences (The Guardian Trilogy #3)

CONSEQUENCES BY LIZ SCHULTE GUARDIANS #3

Consequences is the third and final book in the Guardian trilogy. To read reviews of the previous books: SECRETS and CHOICES.

As this is a trilogy, don’t read these books out of order! This review will contain spoilers from the second book.

So Olivia is a Guardian and Holden is a Jinni. They are supposed to be mortal enemies, but instead they are soul mates and deeply in love. Olivia has broken away from the Guardians to live with the man she loves and to solve the mystery of the missing guardians. Holden is harboring an “enemy” that could land him in trouble with his people. When all they want is to be left alone and in love, but instead they have to navigate stormy waters. There is a lot of tension between the races and Olivia finds herself in the thick of it yet again.

The action in this book moves right along. Schulte throws one curve ball after another. The story was expertly crafted to keep the reader on their toes. I loved how I didn’t know how it was going to end. She also created a wonderful fantasy world. With each book, she introduces more of the Abyss which I think is very clever.  I wish I had the ability to see it and be part of it.

As for the ending, the end was so unexpected, yet satisfying. I was sad to come to the end of the book. Then, I discovered that she continued her world in a couple other series. So I guess I will be reading those next!
