Her academic career in tatters, Dr Henriette Bruar needs somewhere to lay low, plan her comeback and restore her tarnished reputation. Fate takes her to a remote Scottish castle to auction the contents of an ancient library to pay the laird's mounting debts. The family are in deep mourning over a tragedy which happened years before, resulting in a toxic relationship between the laird and his son, Keir MacKenzie. Cue a phantom piper, a lost Jacobite treasure, and a cast of characters who - with Henri’s help, encourage the MacKenzies to confront the past and move on. However - will the Girl in the Castle be able to return to university once her task is completed, and leave gorgeous, sexy Keir MacKenzie behind?
Book Review:
*Girl in the Castle* is such a fun tale by Mozzie Lamb. It is about finding your mojo after you have been derailed.
Dr. Henri was forced to take a leave of absence from her teaching job. She ends up hiding away in a Scottish castle. She is hired to determine the value of the library. She seems such a likeable fun character. I wish we were friends she is that fun. As she arrives at the castle, i could just feel the cool misty settle on my skin. The author does an amazing job transporting her readers to Scotland. The scenery and dialect is just wonderful. Henri learns that not everything is as it seems when she meets the son. Will she take the easy road or will she learn to love and follow her heart?
Thank you to the author for this book. This is my honest opinion.

This sounds like a nice fun book.
ReplyDeleteDear Allie, I must apologize because this blog post/review slipped below the radar last week. I was on a month's research tour of the Scottish Highlands and you can imagine what the internet coverage was like - abysmal. Added to which I was having to follow the book tour on my iPhone and didn't see this one on twitter. ANYHOO - thank you for featuring me on your blog and for your site - and I love my new pen name - MOZZIE - LOL.
